WHEN MEMPHIS WAS OPENING THE DOORS OF ROCK N ROLL TO THE WORLD, DICKEY BEGAN HIS CAREER IN MUSIC.  HIS CAREER BEGAN IN ROCK N ROLL WITH HITS SUCH AS HIS #1 MILLION SELLER “PATCHES” AND THEN CAME “I SAW LINDA YESTERDAY,” FOLLOWED BY “LAURIE” (STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN IN THIS WORLD), ALSO TOP 10 SONGS,  JUST TO NAME A FEW.

“I’VE BEEN VERY BLESSED WITH HIT SONGS IN THE 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, AND 90’s.  I HOPE IT’S NOT OVER, BECAUSE I STILL LOVE IT!  IT’S VERY REWARDING TO KNOW YOU’VE CREATED SOMETHING THAT HAS AFFECTED MILLIONS OF LIVES HOPEFULLY IN A POSITIVE WAY.  I’VE HAD SO MANY SONGS OF MINE RECORDED, I CANNOT BEGIN TO NAME THEM.  TO ALL THOSE WHO MIGHT WANT TO BE SONGWRITERS, YOU MAY HAVE TO SACRIFICE EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO HANG IN THERE, BECAUSE OUTSIDE OF YOUR FAMILY, YOU MAY BE THE ONLY ONE WHO BELIEVES IN YOURSELF.  MY FIRST BMI CHECK WAS FOR 69 CENTS AND I CASHED IT BECAUSE I NEEDED THE MONEY.”

DICKEY CONTINUES TO WRITE GREAT SONGS AND SPEAKS AT VARIOUS SEMINARS, PLUS HE HAS ADDED A NEW DIMENSION TO HIS ONGOING CAREER, HE IS PLAYING ROCK N ROLL REVIVAL SHOWS WITH MANY OF HIS OLD FRIENDS OF THE LATE 50’S-FABIAN, BOBBY VEE, TOMMY ROE, LOU CHRISTIE, THE DIAMONDS, THE SHIRELLES, THE SHANGRI-LA’S TO NAME A FEW.

THE DICKEY LEE OF THE 50’S ERA IS STILL THE DICKEY LEE OF THIS NEW CENTURY, AND HIS SOUND IS STILL STRONG AND CLEAR AS IT WAS WHEN HE FIRST STARTED HIS CAREER.   HE IS A WORLDWIDE ENTERTAINER THAT CONTINUES TO MASTER THE TRADE  OF ENTERTAINMENT WITH EACH OF HIS PERFORMANCES.
